It’s officially been six months and I’ve finally made it to a place where I can say my curls not only look better than ever but my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been. What’s my saving grace you may ask, the curly girl method!
What is the curly girl method?
The curly girl method is a hair washing, protection and styling regime originally created by Lorraine Massey – author of Curly Girl: The Handbook.
The curly girl method:
- Eliminates the use of silicones and sulfates
- Adds more moisture to your hair through after shower products
- Cuts back on the use of heat and styling tools significantly, if not fully
- Encourages you to not use combs, brushes, alcohol or fragrances
When starting a new hair routine, especially one that is so detailed, things can get confusing. I know it was for me. I had to play around with different densities of products and techniques before I found what works for my hair. Everyone’s hair is different, and what works for some may not work for others, but don’t get discouraged.
